Knock Me Over...

Maintenance is still going well for me. I am still surprised that that is the case though. I have never been this successful in my weight loss attempts before and it has me scratching my head. I can't quite put my finger on what switch was flipped that has made this time, THE TIME. I think the biggest motivation for me right now is how good I feel. I have a lot of energy and body feels more fit than ever before. Which amazes me. I have never been into fitness before. I think I suddenly re… Continue

Roni's Exercise Question

Roni's question of the day (http://ronisweigh.com/2008/11/where-are-you-on-your-exercise-journey.html#comment-12152) really got me thinking. And even though I responded in the comments, I thought I would tackle my thoughts a little more in depth over here. My relationship with exercise has been a love-hate one for a long time. I have been a dancer since the age of 4 and it used to be that the only exercise I even remotely enjoyed was a dance class. I would do other types of exercise but I never… Continue

Weekend Update

Happy Monday, everyone! Well, this weekend was not the greatest food-wise. After Friday's candypalooza, I ate at my favorite deli on Saturday (turkey & brie on a baguette with Kettle chips - yummo). Then Sunday I had a bag of dark chocolate m&m's plus 2 of the pumpkin spice muffins I made (granted they are only 2 points each but I really didn't have any points left to spend on them). Then today I ate lunch out with a friend and again I didn't make exactly the best choices. I had split pe… Continue

Another Good Week

I have completed my third full week on maintenance and it is going surprisingly well. MUCH better than I had anticipated. This week had a number of challenges for me. I have had a headache since Monday that would not go away completely. Definitely stress related. Finally one of my friends rubbed out some of the knots in my shoulder and back this morning and I am feeling tons better. Not 100% but it's made a huge difference. Which made me think that I need a professional massage. Luckily I got a… Continue

Food For Success

One of the biggest "tips" I have discovered along my weight loss journey is that if my house isn't stocked with food I like and know to be Point friendly, then I am bound to fail. As a single gal who works full-time, I like my food to be easy and quick to prepare. Recently, I have been trying my hand at "real" cooking and am finding the freezer to be my friend for leftovers. Nevertheless, I have some pretty standard foods that I always fall back on and I thought I would share them with all of y… Continue

Thanks once again Jenny. I appreciate your information on the video...I will let you know how WI goes tomorrow! I know my body has changed and I feel good about my body. It just sucks that it is the scale that matters on WI day!

Hey Jenny
Believe me.. I've NEVER been a runner either! AND...I have a lot more weight to lose, so I was afraid that I'd quit after I started as well. The program starts out pretty easy and you slowly work your way up. I found that the first 3-4 weeks were not bad at all! Week 5 is a little intimidating to me....but as you can see...I'm still at it! Much to my very own amazement! I guess I am still in shock that I am actually doing it! Today my week 5 training said to run 8 minutes...walk 5...and I actually pushed myself a little bit and ran a full 10 minutes! I still cringe when I think about running 20 minutes straight though. But the way I look at it is...even if I have to stay at this point for a month or longer, at least I am still running! And they say that interval training really boosts your metabolism and burns more calories! So I guess I'll just see about that! Keep me posted if you start C25k! I'm sure you'd do great! And good luck for maintaining over the holidays!

Wow, how amazing that you would check in on me! I am just so touched you would do that! Thank you so much. I really and truly appreciate it!
I am doing so well! I am so happy with the CORE program and feel so much freedom with it! I am still journalling even though they say you don't have to. Just in case I don't lose weight in the next few weeks, I want to be able to show my WW leader and see if she has any thoughts. It is so nice not to be hungry all the time. I am making sure that I am eating within the recommended portion sizes (as per flex) and just hope that helps. I just love that there is no pressure to spread my points over a day and end up miserable after dinner because I am out of points and was hungry all day. I just feel scared because it is not as controlled as Flex is. But I am sticking with it. I will give it two weeks because someone told me when they switched programs they didn't lose the first week but lost the second week and from there on. So I will give it time...and a very solid try!
Thanks again for checking in. I am doing very well and just felt on Saturday like I was going no where and that I was trapped. I don't feel that desperation any longer. Your support means so much! Take care...:)

Thanks Jenny. Your comments make total sense. I will go back and read them during moments where I am feeling a bit lost. I think I will focus on the foods on the Core list (I eat mostly those foods anyway), and try to reframe my perspective-treat food as fuel, but try to stay in my Points. I went through my grocery list, and added more of the Core foods. Maybe eventually I will be able to make the full switch, but for now with the new house and all, trying a new plan might be too much! Thanks again!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Jenny! I so appreciate all that you wrote on my blog and it really helped! Thank you so much again...really. I loved what you wrote. Yes, I too am always on program and it feels nice to know that I am not alone. Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions. I also appreciate more than you know the hugs you sent! I started CORE today and so far so good. It seems that it might be more what I need right now. Food more often. I would almost be done my points by late afternoon which meant a scanty dinner and lots of cheating at night due to STARVATION! LOL. Anyway, I am starting again... I am thankful that you are one of my friends. Thank you and have a great week...:)

Hey Jenny - I am so happy that you found something to think about in what I wrote. That is how I got started again...I found something in what someone else said, digested it and then made it work for me. Losing weight is the hardest thing I have ever done and you and I can do this! Think of all the things that we have accomplished because we stuck to it and committed. Have a great week and lean on us when you need to
