About Me:
I'm a 38 year old mom of 3 boys... ages 18, 10 and 5! I gained 60lbs during my first pregnancy and have been fighting it ever since. Before getting pregnant, I weighed 130lbs and felt comfortable in a size 6/7. I've lost some and gained some over the years, hovering between 170-190lbs... recently though I hit my highest weight ever of 207lbs. I feel like I've tried nearly every diet out there (some more than once)... In Late February '08, I decided to give WW another try (at-home, no meetings). I'm not sure what has changed for me, but it's really working this time. I just hit my 10% goal at week 10 and I'm still going strong. Since I don't attend meetings, I browse sites like this to boost my motivation and find new ideas/recipes that help me stay on track. blogging is new to me, but I can't wait to figure it out and get started!

Cake Recipes???

Things have really turned around since my "blah" day on Thursday! I was able to get through my cranky mood and even stayed on plan. Friday was much better, mood, food and exercise-wise. So far today looks like a good day too... I have plans to get out in my yard and do some gardening! I'm a bit concerned about Memorial day though... It's also my middle son's B-day and we're planning a BBQ. I'll be making a healthy meal of chicken skewers and veggies with lots of other healthy sides (and not so h… Continue

Fake it till you make it....

It's overcast and dreary outside today. My mood matches the weather. I'm not sure why, but I woke up feeling blah! I don't feel physically ill... just low energy and agitated at the same time. I had a good day yesterday and got my walking in before the rain started. I drank all my water, ate within my points range, did crunches and push-ups before bed... everything I had set out to do that morning. I've been really motivated lately and haven't really had any problems staying on track... so I'm n… Continue

Monday Weigh-In...

It's Monday. Not a big fan of the day... simply because it represents the end of the weekend and everyone's back to the weekday routine: school, chores, work, etc... Monday is also my weigh-in day... I chose Monday to help me stay accountable over the weekend, which usually tends to be a trouble spot for me. I weighed myself and I'm down 1.5lbs... Yeah! I didn't have a loss last week, so I was really hoping to see something today. 1.5lbs gone has made this monday a little brighter! I did well an… Continue

What I needed to change...

I have to admit that when I first decided to try Weight Watchers again, I went out to the store, hit the snack food isle and calculated the points for all my favorite junk foods, hoping I could somehow fit them in! I was shocked...some of my daily treats consumed 1/3 of my points for the DAY! Before starting, I had acquired some bad habits... especially at night. It was not unusual for me to sit down after supper and share a bowl of popcorn with my husband, followed by some ice cream and then ma… Continue

The mystery of Willpower!

Do you ever wonder where your willpower comes from? I do. Sometimes I have it, sometimes I don't. Right now I have it... which is a good thing... a very good thing. I'm happy about it, but at the same time, I wonder what's different this time. I want to know so I can tap into this "willpower" when I need to. People talk about an "aha" moment... I can't claim that I've ever had one of those. My life is just as busy and chaotic as usual... but for some reason I'm staying on plan, my temptations ha… Continue

3 boys, I can relate. You look great. I am just trying to get focused again. I have lost 90/lbs w/ WW but have gain about 10/lbs back because I have been tracking my food. I thought I could just watch what I eat and not write everything down. Well I have found out that don't work for me. I hope you are doing well.- Patsy

The laughing cow cheese, where I found it with near the deli in a refrigerated area. It is with the couda cheese(the cheese with the red plastic around it) They also have babyl cheese(not sure spelling) it has a red wrapper around it and is round, maybe the size of a 1/2 dollar, and that is a semi-hard cheese for 1pt.(u must get the babyl LIGHT. I hope this makes sense to you. Best of luck in finding.

Well I weighed in today and I stayed the same, so at least I did not gain, but I also did not get to the gym. This weekend for Memorial Day we are going camping, so hopefully I can stay on track. A lady I work with uses the laughing cow cheese to put on her cauliflower and brocolli, she melts it on and it is so good.

I had to share this with you...I posted it on my page too.

Oprah said that when she ask spiritual teacher Marianne Williamson why she thought (Oprah) was having such struggles with her weight. She wrote her a letter saying this: "Until you accept the magnitude of your function, your unconscious mind will sabotage any attempt to show your full magnificence. In fact, if you diet and lose weight, your mind will either put the weight back on or trip up in some other area. In order to lose weight on a permanent basis, you want a shift in your belief about who and what you are. This is the miracle you seek."

She said (and I can relate totally) I can I can look at a picture from any period of my life, and the first thing that comes to mind is not the event or experience, but my weight and size, because that is how I've viewed (and judged) myself—through the prism of numbers.

Oprah said she has given up scale-watching—letting a number determine how she see herself and whether she is worthy of a good day. Part of her awakening through the New Earth classes has been to recognize how shallow and small that made her. Oprah thought to herself, Aha! So that's what Marianne meant when she wrote 16 years ago about "the magnitude of your function." She was right: It is indeed a miracle when you realize the fullness of who you are. You're not your body, and for sure you're not your body image.

That's a free at last kind of recognition. No more wasted time.
