About Me:
Hi my name is Shanna. I am 29 years old and live in Utah. I have been married for 10 years and have three wonderful children. Growing up I was never skinny but I was not over weight either. When I graduated from high school I was 150lbs. I loved to work out in gym class, walk with friends and was active doing teenage stuff. I got married right after I graduated and had a baby 10 months later. I maintained at 165 for about 3 years. My weight slowly crept up on me starting about 3 or 4 years ago. My husband began to have really bad back problems and was unable to work. I was working 2 part time jobs and trying to take some college classes. I was very stressed and turned to food as my comfort. I did not weigh myself for a very long time and ate whatever I wanted when ever I wanted. I never had the desire to go on a diet. I thought it would be to hard and that I would just give up. My sister started doing weight watchers by herself. She started to lose so much weight. I was jealous I wanted to lose weight too. So I started eating better and watching my calories. It wasn’t as hard as I thought. My start weight was 212 on September 2007. Slowly the weight just started to come off. It was so excited. I feel like the old me again. I feel like I have a second chance to start over. I want to be healthy for my kids. I want to take them swimmingand play sports with them. But most of all I want to be a good example to them and teach them to be healthy.

Start Weight: 212 lbs.
Current weight: 155

The reason I picked Slimmer Reflection as my blog name is that I have a habit of checking myself out in mirrors and windows of stores. I used to hate what I saw looking back at me. I was embarrassed. I would think to myself I can't believe you would go out in public looking like that. Now that I have lost 45 pounds I actually do something with my hair and have boutght some new clothes. I still have more to lose and imperfections that I can't change, but I am starting to like what I see.

Thanksgiving was the start date of my over eating. Now I just can't seem to stop. Ahhh!!!. I don't know why I can't get back on track. Everything just sounds and looks so good. I really need to get a plan before I fall off the wagon completely. So far today I have done better. Scrambled eggs for breakfast,granola bar and veggies for a snack. I hope I can keep it up. I Over Ate!!!

So I know I am probably not the only one that ate too much yesterday. The scale is up 3 pounds. Ahhh. Part of me wanted to do so good and stop when I was full and the other part just wanted to enjoy the food. Well you know which part won. I am glad that Thanksgiving only comes once a year. 3 pounds!!! I hope it will come off within the next week. I did not want to see 160 on the scale again. The 150's have been good to me the past few months.

Doing Better

I think I am finally getting back in the weight loss mode. I have been maintaining for the last few months. I finally feel like I am ready. I would love to see the 140's before the end of the year. it will be hard with the holidays but I am going to be strong. (I hope). Right now I am at 154.4. To make the fries on the George Foreman grill, I usually just wash the potato really well, cut it in half and then slice each half into about 8 to 10 slices. I either toss with olive oil (if I still need to get some in for the day) or spray the slices with cooking spray.

It takes about 12-15 minutes to cook them.

Hey Shannon! It was so sweet of you to think of me! It must have been fate, because, that VERY day I marched back in to my WW meeting after having hid away for some time now. I also told myself that I was returning to my blog! I was still reading Roni's stuff, but, hadn't been to the blog site since JUNE!

Congratulations on reaching your goal! You look wonderful in your pictures! Yay Shannon! Your weight loss journey looks to be similar to what I my goal is! I started at 215 and would like to reach a goal of 165. I can't believe your "before" picture is you after having seen the "now!" Your family must be so proud of you. You are an inspiration to me and the fact that you took the time to check up on me...makes me want to succeed that much more. Thank you Shannon. It was just what I needed when I needed it.

Just wanted to answer your question from yesterday...I have an aerobic walking DVD that I use in my living room, so I use the five pound weights when I am doing the DVD.
