Unfortunately my year has been going since mid-August too. Actually that has helped my diet during the week. Now I just have to get weekends under control. I like that you still attend weekly meetings. I am going to get back to my meetings. I think that will really help me get back on track and lose these 5 lbs. Thanks for your reply.

Just ran across a comment you posted about your struggles with maintenance. I definitely think maintenance is harder than losing. I hit goal in July 2007, maintained with no problems until May 2008. Then summer hit and I was home (I am a speech pathologist in an educational setting). Here it is almost September and I have gained some weight back. I need to get back to meetings..I think that would help me. I still weigh in monthly, but haven't been staying for the meetings. Do you still go weekly?

Yeah, our break was short. We are starting earlier to even out our semesters. I think we will get a longer Christmas break and get out earlier, but I haven't checked the dates. I know you're retired, but you should think about joining the teacher's group. It would be great to have advice from someone experienced. Are you going to miss teaching?

Thanks so much, Nellie! I finally broke down and bought a new pair of pants this morning -- all of mine, including the formerly-too-small ones, are literally falling off me. (It's great, but it's also not very flattering and potentially indecent ;)

Nellie, Thanks for your words of incouragement! This has been a battle all my life. I have not really set down and made any goals as for how much I need to lose but it is over a hundred pounds. I am doing it 5 pounds at a time and trying to keep motivated, because I know that I need to be healthier.
