About Me:
I've struggled with my weight all of my life. I started dieting in 4th grade. Gained all my weight back by the time I was in middle school. In high school, I went on a calorie counting binge. I stayed at our around 1200 calories a day. Took up walking, tennis, and dancing (to Paula Abdul's tape ((yes, tape, not CD))) until I reached 140/135 lbs in my junior year. All because I wanted "skinny" senior portraits. After graduation, I moved to AL to live with my grandmother and go to college. I met a guy, fell in love, and got married. I went from eating a small hamburger, small fries, and water on our first date to eating a 1/4 lb combo supersized with Coke and an extra 1/4 lb burger. Sixteen years and three kids later, it's no wonder I weigh as much as I do. I have dieted several times since then, gaining and losing, but I always tend to fall back and use food as a crutch. So, here I am, trying to break the cycle with blogging and journaling.

Back on track this a.m. Good for me! I always struggle with this part, but for some reason, it was so easy today. The food I “cheated” with yesterday wasn’t even good. B – egg sandwich with 1 slice honey wheatberry toast and 1 tsp light mayo (5) L – tuna salad (3) California veggie blend w/ cheese sauce (3) Tomatoes (0) S – pan cooked chicken tenders (6) Black eyed peas (2) Green beans w/ EVOO (1) S – cantaloupe (1) Yogurt (2) Hostess 100 cal pack carrot cake (1)

Gggrrrr...

Major meltdown today. I almost caved for some pizza that we have in the fridge leftover from last night. My dh drives a truck for a company that delivers to name brand pizza franchise and he brought 2 large pepperoni pizzas home last night at my request for the kids. I knew they wouldn’t eat the stuffed cabbage. The problem is, he brought 2 pizzas and a dessert pizza home and they only ate one of the pizzas and ½ of the dessert pizza. I was fine last night, but then today at lunch, I kept think… Continue

Hey Lady...I'm so glad you posted on the homeschool listing...It's good to have reminders that I'm supposed to be taking care of myself too, not just others! Keep it up and let's get moving! I'm going to start doing some physical activity every day...yep, EVERY day! Maybe walking the dogs, riding my bike, hiking with the kids or morning yoga. I have to commit to doing something! Want to join me?

I just came across this site today and started to browse blogs. I can relate to your blog in so many ways.
I'm also married and have two kids and have gained a substantial amount of weight. I am a yo-yo dieter and have lost the same pounds over and over and I want to put it to an end!
I'll be watching your journey! YOU CAN DO IT!

The casserole sounds delicious. I can't wait to try it. You'll have to let me know about the medicine. I had read about the connection to diabetes as well. I may need to bite the bullet and start taking it again.

I definitely miss having goats. It's been a long time since I had mine. I saw the picture of your baby goat. We once had a goat who had twins, and they had identical marble patterns except one was brown and the other black. Ours were regular sized, but I think the pygmy ones you have are even cuter. Maybe one day we'll move back out to the country and start a goat farm!

Hey- thanks for visiting my blog! I read your profile- I love Paula Abdul! My best friend and I used to make up dances to to 'Cold Hearted Snake' and just dance around and act crazy. It's always weird seeing her on American Idol now.

Isn't Mexican food the BEST? I swear, hands down I think I could eat it every single meal, lol. But your plan sounds a LOT like mine. I tend to always order chicken fajitas, put them together myself. I don't use any cheese, sour cream or whatever. I always order black beans (and they evidently DO have refried black beans, I've never tried them though...but I suppose if you are just a huge sucker for normal refried that'd be a healthier alternative.) I LOVE black beans though, I think they have great flavor so that's never a problem. I'll eat a little bit of a rice but not a ton, I'm not the biggest rice fan in the world but I'll eat it. And then I limit myself to less than 10 chips that I break into MUCH smaller chips so I feel like I am having 20 -30 chips, lol...I trick my mind I suppose! And then I just drink TONS of water, I'm talking like 3-4 water refills during one meal. So that's my key to success and not going overboard. I hope that it helps you too!!

Thanks for the wish of luck on finals...I'm so glad it's over. I did pretty good, 2 A's and a B. I get to enjoy a break until May 27th, when classes start back up again.
