I'm too Smart for extra pounds...

Profile Information

About Me:
One day in college, I stepped on the scale, and saw 199. It scared me that I had let myself get so far into not caring about my body. I started WW the next day. A few months later, I lost 30 lbs, and people were calling me words I never heard before... "skinny".

Of course, if I would have had the smarts to realize how hard it was lose that weight, I would of kept it off. But I didn't, I gained back 20 of it (ouch) and am working now to get rid of that PLUS whatever else to get into a healthy weight for life. No more excuses. No more slipbacks.

Day 13:

Almost 2 weeks have gone by on my new plan, and it's been ok. I did alright this weekend. I realize I haven't posted in the past 4 days, I just haven't had the time. Thursday was a co-workers happy hour, to which we went to melting pot and shared cheese & chocolate fondous. At one point I realized I did not like the second batch of cheese ordered, and I stopped eating it. I was proud that I didn't feel obligated to finish it. The 1st batch of cheese was shared with 4 other people. And the ch… Continue

Day 8: New week ahead

Yesterday was the end of week 1. According to the scale yesterday I've lost 2lbs. It still doesn't measure the 4 lbs I gained eating away 2 weekends ago. I am trying to correct myself. I felt that Week 1 was successful. I worked out and ate appropriatly. I hope to keep going on like this. Week 2 is looking a little daunting. Already I've got friends to meet up with and dine out- much more than I expected.… Continue

Day 6: Monday No Blues

I'm so sore, every muscle in my body aches! I did a 70m ab class yesterday, and I'm feeling pain everywhere. It's amazing that core work can make everything else hurt. Not to mention, I've been really pushing myself these past few days to get stronger. The other day, working with weights, my 5lb dumbells seemed really heavy! But though my body hurts, I feel strong and forget how good working out feels. In f… Continue

Day 3: TGIF

How could one not love Fridays? This weekend I have time to myself to whatever I like. I found out yesterday I got into the 70m ab class for Sunday, which is very hard and totally works, so I am excitied about that. My friend also rescheduled our lunch for Monday, which means I still hit my 2x a week dine out for lunch. I'm SO tempted to eat out today (though I brought my lunch). Maybe it's the… Continue

Day 2: Things are looking up

I feel great after working out and cooking a healthy meal yesterday. Also am proud to have brought my lunch today and plan to say no to any invites (plus its rainy outside, who wants to be out in that?). I felt I did well yesterday, and updated my accountability for Day 1. Here are today's stats: Day 2 B- bagel round S-starbucks frappachino L-roasted chicken, veggies(v), rice chocolate cake(s) S-pear(f) D- chicken, veggies(v… Continue

Thanks for the comment! And yes, you should definitely pick up Intuitive Eating. I think it's an interesting approach to food, and something to at least think about.

And I completely agree with you that everyone is different. When I was doing Weight Watchers it was almost imperative that I ate before I got hungry, especially when doing Core. Otherwise I'd eat EVERYTHING and never get full! I think I'm just at a different place with food now, but everyone has a different view and need. I think that's so interesting!

Good luck to you and congrats on your loss!

Thanks for the comment! As soon as I lost the weight, BOOM it happened. I feel very fortunate and hope for a complication free pregnancy. I will be going to the doctor next Tuesday, so I guess instead of blogging about weight loss, I'll blog about healthy weight gain and baby news :-)

I actually had a great time in BK today :). My last 2 visits to NY were to Manhattan so that is all I know. This is different but fun and a funky little neighborhood. I actually did have BK pizza today, can't remember the name though. Not bad, definitely better than the last time I had pizza in the Village but being a native SF girl I'm not a huge NY style pizza fan, but I'd eat BK pizza again.

Yeah I think it is important to hit mini goals. For me it keeps me motivated to continue on to the next step. & It is something that isn't so FAR away.

Thank you SO much for your kind comments! I really appreciate it! And while I'm sorry to know you know where I'm coming from, it's also nice to know I'm not alone in my struggle. I hope all is going well for you this week and today!!
