About Me:
On a journey to lose 100+.
I started 2008 by joining Slim4Life. With that program I was able to drop 40 pounds in 4 months. But mentally it was destroying me. I had to find a different way of getting the weight off.
Then I discovered intuitive/normal eating. By learning to listen to my body again I am still losing weight. I may be losing it slower but I am happier.
I am training to walk 1/2 marathon in October.
My goal is to reach a healthy weight and break the diet, lose, and gain cycle.

Bumps in the Road

We all experience them...bumps in the road. They happen in all aspects of our life. It is how we deal with them that determine on how much they affect us. Honestly in the past I was a very black and white person. If the plan was to do "a" and something happened that would not allow me to do "a" then I wouldn't do anything. I have a good excuse....

truly I do have a good excuse for being MIA. For some reason at work I can still access the site but it is in text format. WEIRD. If anyone has any clues as to why this is happening let me know. I eventually will need to suck it up and just deal with the way I view it at work if I ever want to be a regular blogger. Measurements and a Weigh In

Happy to report that I dropped another 4.5 inches. This certainly confirmed what I had been feeling as the past 4 weeks have progressed. 22-Jun Starting Ending Change Weight 204 199 5 Bust Measurement 44.5 44 0.5 Waist Measurement 38.25 37 1.25 Hip Mesurement 50.5 50 0.5 Thigh Measurement 27.25 25.5 1.75 Upper Arm Measurement 14 13.5 0.5 As you can see that I lost 5 lbs in the same timeframe. Focus on the Positive!

So I am borrowing this idea from Michelly. One thing I like about my body: My curves. I love that I have a curvy figure. One thing I like about my personality: I can get along with most anyone. Random Question-Driver's License

I was noticing I will have to renew my driver's license this year. Which leads me to my random question.... Is the weight on your driver's license accurate? Was it accurate when you got your latest driver's license? And if you are feeling brave...how many pounds would you have to drop to have the license reflect your real weight. My answers are No it's not accurate Nope, I don't think so Approximately 20lbs.

Thanks for your kind words :) I'm waiting until September to sign up for a 5K -- it's the South here and hot and humid as all get out :) But yes, I'm looking forward to my first race, although I'm almost certain to not share it with my local friends until after the fact ... fear of failure, perhaps? I admit, it still doesn't seem real that I'm a runner :D

Hi Jeni! I'm glad to find someone else who is in training. We've been training since MARCH to get our speed up and the staying power needed for the whole 13.1 miles. Let's keep each other posted on our progress :)

Our original weights are similar. My highest was 263... actually I made the -50 pound mark TODAY. Ha! I'm working toward losing 100. Nice to "meet" you :).
