I was always the skinny sibling...that all changed! In the past 15 years I've packed on an amazing 55lbs!!! 3 or 4 lbs a year never seemed like much, but boy-o-boy do they all up!!! I know in my heart I need to get back to the true me. The "Me" I see when I dream is the same thin person I feel like on the inside. Too many years I've put others first while letting myself slide...NO MORE!
This morning is what an August morning should be...comfortably cool, clear skies with an abundance of tomatoes on the vine and black-eyed Susans in my garden. Yoga and meditation by the pool got me started and was followed by breakfast (egg-muffin sandwich, coffee and cranberry juice). I plan on either a neighorhood walk or a hike with the dogs (they're always up for being my exercise buddies!)
It looks like it will be Thursday before I can make a WW meeting and I'll be dragging my dd along (ki… Continue
Here I am, at the starting line...my heart is thumping, I'm nervous as can be, but in my heart I KNOW I want this more than anything. I need to do this, not just for me but for my daughters. I've set a poor example of how one should take care of themselves! The time is right, the only thing holding me back is fear of yet another failed attempt. What can I do differently? This is it...blog my way thin, fit and healthy. The journey of 50 lbs begins with the single keystroke! I'm off!
5:45pm...aka, The Witching Hour! I've been a good girl all day, watched my food intake, and activity level, but now...I'm tired, hungry and want a nice glass of wine. While I normally love to prepare a healthy dinner - my husband is out of town, my kids (teens) are happiest with a bowl of cereal or pizza and I wonder why I go to all the effort...Note to Self, "Because I'm Worth It!!!"
I have been to meetings in the past, done online in the past. This time trying to do on my own. But if I have problems and don't lose I will start online again. Good luck finding a meeting.
Terri... Hi I'm a member of the 100 miles in 100 days group and welcome to the group. I read your comment about wanting to incorporate some jogging. The C25K (couch to 5K) program is a great way to get jogging. Even if you only want to jog as much as the week 2 or 3 level it's a nice way to break into running without agony! Check it out here http://www.c25k.com/.
I'm on Week 6. I just did a 20 min run today and felt so great I ran 20 more! 6 weeks ago I was just a chubby RN ;o) Now I'm a running machine!
