Profile Information

About Me:
I have been married for 9 years and have two wonderful kids, Girl 5 years, boy 22 months. After my son was born, a week later we found out he had a rare Fatty Oxidation Disorder which requires him to be on low-fat diet for the rest of his life. I since have decided that I really needed to get myself and my family used to a better lifestyle and eating habits. This also gives me a lot more motivation to stick with the program and succeed. I have been working at a University for 10 years and enjoy it most of the time. These are the things I enjoy doing but don’t get to do them much with the two little kidlets; scrapbooking, reading, camping, and now exercising and eating healthy. As of date, I have lost 60 lbs by doing Weight Watchers. I have loved every minute of it and feel so much healthier and alive. I still have a little to go, but can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Plan of Choice:
Low Fat, High Fiber, Weight Watchers
Workout Philiosophy:
I'm new to exercise

Anyone use Weight Watcher etools?

Just curious if anyone has used etools and what they think of it? I have a two week free pass and thought it would be fun to get point values for some of the things I make. Other than that I am not sure what I would use on etools. Is there anything in particular that you like or dislike? I would love to hear people's thoughts.

My thoughts on Thanksgiving....

Yesterday at our Weight Watchers meeting it was all about how to handle Thanksgiving and make good choices. One thing our instructor said was to make it a Holiday not a Holiweek. She said that people usually keep eating the same things for the whole week and that's when we have bad weeks. A friend & co-worker that goes to WW with me is really stressing about making healthier food items. My thoughts are it is one day a year, enjoy the things that are prepared. Don't over stuff yourself, don't… Continue

Good day!

Today was a day that we accomplished a lot. I had to clean out the pantry first thing this morning because I found weevil in the pancake mix. Bummer. Good reason to clean the pantry. Cleaned all the counters really good. Did laundry, cleaned bathrooms and then hubby and I worked 4 hours in the back yard pulling pokey weeds. It really sucked, but really needed done before winter. Now me and the kids are watching Kung Fu Panda in my daughter's room while hubby and the neighbor guy are watching foo… Continue

Geez time has past

I just typed this big long post and then the daugther comes along and pushes the back button on the mouse and I lose it all. I can not believe how long it has been since my last post. Not a whole lot has been going on other than work, kids homework (I am already stressing over kindergarten homework), taking care of kids & hubby, house work and the usually wife and mother things. No wonders it is hard to find time for myself. It has been a relaxing weekend. We are sitting here watching "The… Continue

Glad Halloween is over...

It was fun trick-or-treating with the little ones, but I am glad it is over. One holiday down, two more to go. I just noticed one of my goals was to lose 5 more lbs by Christmas. I better get my butt in gear. I know I can do it very easily, I just need to focus on it. I saw 155 on the scale last week, but haven't seen it since. I just got done painting my dining room and it looks awesome. It is amazing what a little color will do. Now I just need to find the decorating side of me and get some s… Continue

Hi Amy! Thanks for your note. My Mom is doing better, taking it one day at a time, and I did not turn to food to cope with my emotions. I'm turning to the blog instead, and finding comments from people like you really help! By the way, i just went through your achieved goals! That's amazing! Congratulations! You are a source of inspiration!

Here's some photos of the big day yesterday. She is growing up way to fast. I think the thing I miss most, is when I dropped her off at daycare she would stand at the door and wave through the window. I have to catch myself still wanting to do that. Now I drop off my almost 2 year old and he sits at the table waiting for breakfast. He doesn't care that mom is leaving, just who is going to give him food.

Ok I am signing us up. I need to get motivated and get running again. Shay and Brandi and doing the Logan one in Sept and they might do the 10k for Peach Days. No way can I do that. But maybe you should.

Hi sis, just thought I would stop by and see how you survived the reunion. I really need to start exercising more. You look so tone and so much skinnier then me. I really hope I can run the 5k and some what keep up with you. I have been slacking I wish I had a treadmill.

Radishes and a pepper or two are all I have so far, turns out I could have planted earlier! But it's better by far than we had last year...I planted in late June so most things just didn't get a good enough start before those dog-days of August!

I love gardening, my mom says she has no idea where my green thumb came from, but I loved gardening shows growing up...remember Victory Garden on PBS?...that was always my favorite! That old guy with the long white beard was a hoot and full of terrific info!!
