About Me:
My name is Katy and I'm a 27 year old recovering yo-yo dieter. In 2006 I lost 50lbs on yet another un-healthy diet (involving one small meal a day, lots of grapefruit and not much else). Since then I've been struggling to keep the weight off.

I'm learning that healthy eating and living are a lifetime of daily choices; sometime easy and sometimes not so. I'm learning that feeding my body not only helps me lose weight and look better; it helps me think, work and play better too. I'm learning that diet is a very dirty word and exercise is not. Most of all, I'm learning that I don't have to be perfect to be healthy and happy.

Oh how I wish the spices in Indian food were magic calorie burners...

A few things I am thinking about tonight... 1. I am writing this post from my cubicle at work. I'm on the east coast so by the time I post this it will likely be 10 pm. Knever Knew how much I Kneeded my Knees!

So I’ve been training/practicing for the past two months to teach aerobics classes at my local gym. It’s actually a super-cool class, a mix of different kinds of dance styles (mostly hip-hop and latin). About three weeks ago I noticed my left knee was hurting after a practice session. Un-Happy Hour

Ahhh!!! It’s that time again. The 3-4 pm (ish) munchie hour. Like clockwork, I become famished around this time every work day. Funny, I don’t get the munchies on the weekends. Perhaps because my eating schedule is different on those days. I brought in my yummy blackberries and yogurt for a snack and ate it almost a half an hour ago and I’m still hungry. This is the best idea ever!

I'm so excited to join this community. Why? I hate keeping a food/activity journal. Journals are the places where you keep your secrets and deepest thoughts. For some people, a journal is the one place you can be honest about yourself. Me? Thanks! I'm very excited for our wedding. Just hope I fit into my newly taken-in dress :) I always know that saying no won't hurt, but for some reason I have this inner self saying, "eat the cake now or you won't get another chance!!" He needs to be squashed :)
