About Me:
I teach junior high math and LOVE IT! I have three grown kids and an amazing husband of 26 years.

Five years ago I lost 37 lbs. on WW and became a lifetime member, but since then I went back to school to earn a master's degree and all my energies went into my studies and consuming extra calories to fuel my brain.

Now, I'm working on getting myself in back in shape so I feel comfortable and have more energy. My highest weight: 167 lbs., Goal Weight: 130 lbs.

I love chocolate and just about anything Starbucks...my biggest vices! I seek God regularly because I want to use the gifts I have been blessed with to their fullest.

I'm a Mess

I haven't checked in with the blog in waaaaaayyyy too long. Here's why: I'm a mess. Plain and simple. Here is a rundown of my past two weeks: 1. Ending on a high note - within reach of my goal at my last weigh-in - TOM intrudes and messes things up. I was certain I wouldn't have a great weigh in last Tuesday, but was willing to take my "losses" (or gains...or lack of weight loss) and hope for a better week. Then came last MONDAY. As I was running before dawn last Monday morning, I tripped on a… Continue

C25K - Check! What's my Next Goal?

I am SUPER excited because this morning, between about 5:20 and 6:00 a.m., I COMPLETED MY ENTIRE C25K PROGRAM!! I am an official graduate, after a lot of hard work, shear stubbornness, almost peeing my pants on my first long run, and a lot of positive self-talk. Wa-hooly! I'm ready and rarin' for my next goal now. And maybe someone out there can help me. I am going to follow through and buy myself the Nike+ system for my iPod so I can track my progress and listen to some of my… Continue

Last Week!

Checking in to celebrate the fact that I am officially in my last week of C25K! That's right! This morning I ran over 3 miles. The great part is, although I felt winded during the first half mile or so, once I was running along, I didn't feel at ALL like I needed to quit at the end of the run. I could have gone on and on and on... This is super exciting for me, because it's the first time I've felt that way since I started the program. I think it helped to run in the morning inste… Continue

You mentioned you are in the central valley, how close are you to sacramento? I have a stack of Fitness & Shape Magazines I want to give to someone!

Thank you so much DD! I believe in the power of prayer over all else. I really am in a much better mood. Someone at work yesterday asked why I was so chipper :~P .

And with my mood going up my weight has been consistently going back down this week. I'm hoping by Friday it will be back down the entire 2.8 I gained.

Wednesdays is the hardest day for me WW wise anyway. We have a meal catered by a pharmaceutical company each Wednesday. I did decide to keep doing flex, because my eating times vary so much. Some of the places we get food from I can deal with because it's in the WW book, but today we are getting food from a local steakhouse (umm...yeah...the vegetarian always causes trouble :~P ) and they don't have nutrition info. :o( . So not cool.

No Pudge is a brand that you can buy at the store. We found them at Kroger. They are 2 points for a small square. Very delicious. I never make them unless I have plenty of points to spare.

Hey dd.... I'm here and alive. I'm dragging my broken freakin leg to work and trying to stay upright for 12 hours (and thinking I maybe should have listened to the doc when he said take 3 weeks off). But HEY look at YOU!! Almost 20 lbs down with only one teeny tiny gain in there woo hoo! And only two weeks left of C25K! Go sister! You can do it!

When you get discouraged.. just stop for a minute and think... you'll hear the sound of my casted footprints behind you and feel my hand nudging you forward just a little, saying "come on do it for your broken legged friend!" In no time at all you'll be 130 pounds and running 3.1 miles in one stretch! You'll feel so accomplished and look how far you've come!

Hubbie is getting old and tired. They are hitting him HARD with PT. He's running mile after mile after mile and making C25K look like a cakewalk. Recitations are getting a little bit harder and tests a little more challenging. Plus once he became a squad leader he now has the added chore of keeping all the screw ups in line too! (but if I may brag he is tied for the #1 spot in the class.. so NOT my husband!) How is your guy doing? Don't let those recitations get him down!

How will I *ever* have enough time :o( ? I am so against running at night since the evenings are the only time I really get with the family now besides weekends. I only had 10 minutes to run yesterday (and a 5 min. warm-up and 5 min. cool-down)! I almost didn't go at all, because I knew it was going to mean I would have to shower and still do makeup and get dressed and all. It was SO hectic! I have to wait until I get all my kids on the bus before I can go. I decided even 10 minutes is better than none at all, but I'm not happy about it!
