Arlene is an Arizona journalist who has had to battle with her weight since about fifth grade. She lost 105 pounds in two years on Atkins, but regained about 70 of those pounds after meeting her boyfriend, a carb freak. She joined WW in August 2007 and has lost 40 pounds since then.

It's not official, but ...

My scale reading at home this morning was 199.8! Woo hoo! What a pleasant surprise it was when I saw that number . I know it's not official unless it shows up next Monday. And my home scale DOES weigh me about a pound to 1 1/2 pounds lighter than the one at my meeting. Even so, I can now see how my hard work is (finally!) paying off — and that'll make it easier to stay OP for the next several days. I also took another set of measurements yesterday. Lightbulb moment and a report

I'll start with the lightbulb moment: I was working tonight, totally stressed out and too busy to leave my desk. But since I didn't have anything with me to snack on, I didn't eat anything. Normally, when I go back to work after dinner, I take a few things with me to eat while I'm there. But tonight I didn't ... thus I didn't have any snacks. Is it really that easy? Surely not! Yesterday was good

With the exception of my not-so-great WI, Monday was a good day. I'm just getting around to posting about it because my Internet stopped working last night. Thank goodness it's back now. I did some more thinking yesterday, and realized I had a lot of sweet snacks. They may have been just 1 Point apiece, but I went through two boxes of Mrs. Freshley's (one box of 100-calorie chocolate cupcakes and a box of the 100-cal oatmeal cream pies). Even if you do get the HG cookbook, most of the recipes are on the website (I think that's supposed to be a secret...)

Definitely read that book and let me know what ya think. I'm kind of a 'workbook' type of gal, although it's not really a workbook, it gives me something to work on as I go. Hope you're doing great!!! (I forgot to tell you I'm looking into buying a Zumba DVD to try.)

i know what you mean, .4 can be kinda of a bummer when you're expecting a bigger loss. my philosophy is expect the worst hope for the best.

I am definitely considering attending meetings again...I'll have to figure out what it costs up here before I make my final decision.
I like the yellow notebook paper...it seems less bright than some of the other themes. :)

Question: Why is it that guys love to watch their gals eat the ooey, gooey stuff? You would think they'd understand the consequences! lol
