Hot and muggy again today. Ugh. Walked on my lunch hour and at dusk. 6.25 miles on my pedometer! Stayed OP today after getting sidetracked over the last few days. Found the 1 pt beer… definitely a winner in my book on a hot summer night.
WOOT!!! WI - down to my lowest ever weight in two decades! Also only 3 lbs away from my WW 10%. Went walking at lunch w/ co-worker. Very humid again today so we took it easy.
I’m tracking food in a spreadsheet right now to see if that works better.. it calculates points for me. I’m [...]
Really nice day today. Went walking at lunch - Gerald Ford museum had free admission in honor of his birthday, so we spent most of the walk going through the exhibits.
Oatmeal/pudding (the usual) (3 pts)
24 oz coffee
2 cups veggie couscous (7 points)
2 cups frozen grapes (2 pts)
cream cheese danish (@ 7 pts)
chicken buritto w/ salsa [...]
Slept in late, felt wonderful. Cleared off the kitchen table and shredded, filed or paid bills from all the paper clutter. Cleaned the rest of the house with DH’s help. Went Groc shopping and cooked up veggie couscous for lunches for the coming week.
-english muffin w/ peanut butter & honey (5 pts)
-coffee w/ ff milk [...]
I’m using the spreadsheet someone posted to track calories & points… it calculates all the point values and I can keep it on a flash drive and keep it with me both at home & at work. I think it will force me to be more accountable tracking points.

I was a skinny kid and young adult - also a college athlete
I keep wondering what the hell happened
I am an eternal optimist - the glass is always overflowing, not just half full (even when it’s bone dry)
I am married to a wonderfully supportive guy (who unfortunately is not interested in nutrition or eating healthy) but is very concerned about my health and who rarely gains an ounce regardless of what he eats
I work many long hour days in the Info Tech field and sit on my ass all day long behind a computer screen (but I love my job)
I need structure and accountability so I joined WW with a friend - we keep each other honest about attendance
I attend a WW meeting at 7am because I know I’ll never have a good excuse to miss it
I am ridiculously proud of every ounce I’ve managed to drop - weight loss /changing my lifestyle habits are by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done
Just been crazy busy! I've posted and I plan to be around alot more...God knows I need the accountability!!! Hope all is well with you and you've been enjoying the glorious weather!!! I MUST get back on the wagon!
Bonnie...So sorry I haven't been around...lots of DRAMA at my house...I'll drop you an email later this week with all the ugly details. GREAT JOB on the 10% ! Keep on keepin' on!! I've missed being around here and missed you even more!...and I've fallen off the wagon with a huge THUMP!! Suprised you didn't hear it!! I'll talk to you soon! :)
Here's the recipe I used to make my kale last night. It serves 6:
3 tbls olive oil
3 cloes garlic - minced
3/4 onion chopped
1 cup bread crumbs (i used Italian)
2 bunches of kale
Place the olive oil, garlic and onion in a pan and suatee until soft.
Add 1 cup of bread crumbs and brown
Add kale (shredded or broken into smaller pieces)
Stir around so you coat the kale and cook until wilted.
Prior to putting the kale in with the garlic and onion mixture I boiled it lightly in veggie broth. You can use chicken broth if you want.
I can't say enough good things about this recipe. I got it off of Allrecipes.com
hey...hope all is well. I've just been busy working ...tried to post from work...but alas the cyberdevils would not have it! I'm going to post on my Blog now...
South Beach is really hard to stick to....I have not made it through one day yet. I guess this diet is for those that are very organized and well prepared.....that's not me! I have this week off from work and school is out until May 27th, so I'm going to give it another shot....I may be going back to Weight Watchers.
