About Me:
I'm a 911 dispatcher working shift work and trying to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. I'm 33 years old, happily married with 2 daughters (six years and 3 years old). I'm done with all the excuses and ready to lose the weight now that we are not having any more children. At my heaviest i tipped the scales at 230lbs. I am currently 212lbs (June 15th, 2008) and have completely changed my lifestyle by making time to exercise and eating "normal" serving portions. I don't have a goal weight set in stone, i'm sure i'll have a better idea down the road. Maybe 160lbs???? Or a size 10/12??? I tried losing weight after my first girl was born but i listened to everyone telling me "Oh, don't worry about the weight until you're done having kids, it'll just be a waste of time" I lost 20lbs and eventually gained it back. This time is different.....my hubby is eating right along with me and exercising. I joined a 24hr gym and have been going faithfully for 2 months starting with the circuit room and cardio and i added strength training 2 weeks ago.

GOALS:
Get below 200lbs: buy myself a new top
190lbs: a massage
180lbs: fashionable pair of jeans
170lbs: facial
160lbs: GOAL weight - shopping spree!!

It seems as though i will do well with exercise as long as my husband is active. He only had 30lbs to lose and was 5lbs away from that goal when we had holidays. I had 70lbs to lose and now have 40 to go. The problem is that when he took a break from exercise i did too. I didn't gain any weight while not exercising for 3 weeks and i managed to maintain with eating right. Now, this past week we both wake up at 6am and workout. This is my comfy place

I lose about 20-25 lbs, clothes get baggy, get a few compliments and then i lose the motivation to lose more weight. This time will be different. Why? I joined a female gym in May and i am blogging. I know that just counting calories, a great supportive family, and wanting it just isn't enough. I am 206 lbs and far from a healthy weight. I found the courage

and posted some pics of me at my heaviest (230) and now (205). I figured that others were doing it and it was great to browse the before and after pics. I still have about 40 lbs to go but it's nice to document the progress. I really had to search for some pics, it's amazing how many that i had from the chest up or i was just MIA and behind the camera. I sure hope that will change now that i am on track. My first post

I joined BTL two weeks ago and have enjoyed reading everyone's blogs, i've even commented a few times but i have not written anything until now. So many people say how it helps in the process and i am all for that! Currently i am at 206 lbs and cannot wait to get under 200 lbs. My husband is super supportive. He works out 4-5 times a week and really tries to get me to the gym too. My plan is to start as soon as my boys go back to school next week. Always easier when I just have myself to worry about. I have 5 weeks off until fall quarter so that should give me enough time to start a routine. I have about 50 to lose to be at a comfortable weight for myself.

oh my goodness, Dot, i am teary-eyed after the comment you left me; i ALSO am still wearing my baggy pants which are unflattering but "comfortable", i am mostly buying only new tops to show off my slimming waist and my "girls"! YES, WE CAN DO THIS. i vow to blog more and i promise myself to stay committed. we have come so far and have so much to be proud of and WE DESERVE to experience that sweet victory when we cross the finish line. thanks so much for your kind words and i look forward to being "blog buddies"

I actually don't suscribe to any regularly but I do find myself picking up Shape and Fitness an awful lot, lol...I would definitely have to say those two are my favorites over all the other women's fitness magazines. Give both copies a try next month, see what you think! Oh and be sure to let me know what you decide ;)

No, unfortunately, I didn't start blogging until just about a few weeks before Roni started Blog To Lose....I just didn't know that much about it, and I was spending all my free time on just searching for recipes and food finds....and cooking...and eating,....and doing dishes. And then, oh yea, I have to work too (also unfortunately)...tehehe. But hey, thank you!! for the great comments. Sometimes I almost can't believe that I've done this. Tomorrow night is my 50th week on the WW plan when I weigh-in after work. I was definitely hoping to be at goal by now, but.....I'm OK with it, mostly because, I've decided that this is how I want to live the rest of my life....this wasn't just a diet and as soon as I'm there I can go back to eating junk again. Good luck to you, Dot....again, I just think you're the cutest thing! I LOVE your haircut!

my scales seemed to be on a flat surface but,could be mistaken. but I weighed 3 more times and I got the same weight so,I'm gonna stick to that weight which is a -4 lb loss. I added Roni's progress template today and have it saved on my computer so I can keep up with my weigh loss.
